Why I love yoga

There are so many benefits to yoga and it is such a personal journey to practise it.

Yoga nourishes the mind and body. These days there is a considerable focus on the physical aspects such as improved muscle tone, however there is so much more depth to yoga. It brings an awareness to the breath, without which we would not live. It brings the mind and body into harmony and allows the distractions of the ego and the mind chatter to be released. This is a challenge and it is an ongoing commitment hence the importance of a regular practice and finding a style that works for you as an individual.

It is a wonderful tool in modern life for stress management, improved concentration, improving energy levels and joint health. We were made to move, not sit in a chair for hours at a time. Yoga really helps you to connect with your body and understand the impact your daily life and routines can have on the physical body and your overall mental and spiritual health.
